Hall Profile

The Rio de Janeiro International Exhibition Center was established in 1977. It is the largest conference and exhibition center in Rio de Janeiro, with modern facilities and supporting amenities. The Rio de Janeiro International Exhibition Center has hosted many sporting events: it was the venue for the 2012 G20 summit, and it also hosted the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, providing venues for six pavilions; Pavilion No. 2 hosted Olympic boxing; Pavilion No. 3 hosted table tennis for the Olympics and Paralympics; the exhibition management hosted badminton; Pavilion No. 6 hosted Olympic weightlifting and Paralympic weightlifting; during the 2014 FIFA World Cup, it served as the headquarters of FIFA. The Rio de Janeiro International Exhibition Center covers an area of 200,000 square meters, making it a landmark building in the city and a venue for large-scale events. The Rio Convention Center has four competition venues, all within a 5-minute drive from the Olympic Village and Paralympic Village.
